Michael Marshman
I was born in Barry, Wales in 1986 and still live there today with my wife and two children.
I have always loved stories and the different ways they are told, from movies and TV to video games, or from books to comic books, it makes no difference a good story can put me in a great mood.
My first attempt at writing came when I was in my early twenties when I wrote a book called, Luna: the Son and the Moon. The story was about a young boy called Arken who was training to be a Mage when something tragic happens, he wakes up hundreds of miles from home with no memory of what happened or how he got there, to learn that a year has passed. With the aid of a young warrior woman and a three-hundred-year-old witch that looked like a thirteen-year-old girl, he journeyed home to find out what happened to him, whilst learning a huge secret about himself along the way.
It was great fun to write but my inexperience was written all over it and I didn't have the confidence to peruse it further, so it sat on my desktop where it still sits today. For years after that, I would write short stories whenever the mood struck.
Almost two years ago Chris came to me with an idea of a world filled with dragons and magic, although it needed quite a bit of work to develop it further, I was hooked and that was when the Legend of the Dragon Knights was born.

Born in Cardiff in 1988 and raised in Barry,
currently residing in Llantwit Major with my
soon-to-be wife and our eccentric Malamute.

Throughout my time at school, the only two
lessons that never failed to hold my interest were
drama and creative writing during English classes.
I've always loved a good story but I find the real
magic is in getting to tell my own.

Outside of that, my true passions are traversing the
mountainous regions of Wales where I keep an ear
out for local tales, myths, legends, and martial
arts, more specifically, Aikido! Which I have been a
practitioner of since 2007.

I have been building the world of Earthania, its
inhabitants and of course its guardians the Dragon
Knights, since I was 12!
I first attempted to write the Legend of the
Dragon Knights story in 2011, whilst living and
working in the wilds of North Wales, but then my
laptop was destroyed and I lost everything I had
written!

Fast forward two years and I started writing again. This was around the time I first met Mike as a work colleague. We became friends
fairly quickly, but it was when I had the good fortune to work with him again a few years later that we began to talk about
our shared interest in writing.
By this time I had a detailed outline of my book, enough to absorb Mike into the world. Initially I asked Mike for an opinion,
then asked advice after sampling his own writing. Eventually I asked if he simply wanted to become Co-Authors and
write together.
BOOM! Here we are with our debut novel!
Working with Mike has been a truly special experience. I've always enjoyed writing, but never been much of a reader, which is
something Mike pushed me to work on, if nothing else to research similar works in our genre.
I've learnt a lot and have certainly developed more as a writer than I would have without finding an awesome writing partner.

And we're only just getting started!
